We hung out with our grandma for a week!

i haven't like posted in like weeks or something i dunno i just get feeling kind of like i don't feel like it or something and i just don't so anyway now i feel like it so i will. omg!

We just got back from a little Saskatchewan tour, playing Saskatoon twice and Moose Jaw once. Our first Saskatoon date was with 'Low Level Flight', who are headed by former Canadian Idol Ryan Malcolm. They were very kind, and good, and we had a great time hanging with them. They also proved to be slightly more rock 'n' roll than Quinzy, after a late night of drafts and chatting they hopped in their van (the sober one behind the wheel) and drove straight through to Brandon. Quinzy on the other hand headed back to grandma's house for some hot milk, cookies, and a good nights rest. What a sleep!

Off to the Jaw the next day and some WCMA festivities. As is usually the case, we ended up spending most of our time hanging out with the hordes of other WInnipeg bands who once again dominated the weekend. Sandy and I played with JP thursday night and then Quinzy took the stage friday evening. We also got a chance to hang out with manager Vince, which was a treat, until he started picking us up over his shoulders and hurling us into recycling bins (that didn't happen (but it has(and he did pick us up))).

Saturday morning brought us back to Saskatoon for a house show. I think we all agreed it was the highlight of the trip, we ended up performing for young kids, high school athletes, Saskatchewan's current Minister of Labour, a beat poet, a local booking agent, some football coaches, a writer, and our grandma, among other family and friends. The diversity of the audience and the setting (a living room) made for a fantastically intimate and gratifying night. Thanks go out to uncle, aunt, and cousins Derksen for being such gracious and entertaining hosts.

Hey, what are you doing in November? If you're in Winnipeg you're probably coming to our weekly University night at The Academy. Yeah, I thought so.
